The life and spirit of a scolar and former cleric was depicted by a fullsize tombstone with a hand-chiseled border relief of walking and reading monks, who go round endlessly.

This relief was inspired by the walls of the Assyrian staircase in Persepolis with tile-reliefs of present-bringing guests or servants. The image of offering was the theme of Rudy s memorial; building forth upon cultural heritage and passing through knowledge and civilisation. Being part of the human chain through the ages.

The centre of the tombstone shows the scolar sitting in a chapel and studying The Book. The text around him is a quote from Canticles 8:6; an homage to both his spiritual and matrimonial devotion.
